Kona Mountain Coffee's strict environmental policy emphasizes a
dedicated respect for the environment—inherent
in everything we do.
Over
the years, our efforts to produce
conventional and certified organic
Kona coffee in an environmentally
friendly way has earned us a prestigious
Conservation Award from the U.S.
Department of Agriculture. In addition, Green
Mountain Coffee Roasters,
one of the leading coffee roasters
in the United States, has selected
Kona Mountain as one of its "stewardship"
farms, based upon our respect for
the land and respect for the people
who maintain it.
As a sign of our continual commitment to the environment,
we developed one of the most technologically
advanced coffee mills in the Kona
Coffee Belt. At our mill, we recycle
our coffee wash water and we mulch
our coffee skins for weed control.
On the six acres surrounding our
mill, we have several hundred coffee
trees being farmed organically.
Our coffee is certified organic
by the Hawaii
Organic Farmers Association.
